Mod Pay June 2 - June 15
Modpay is tentatively biweekly, with one on the 15th and one on the 30 or 31st of each month. Deckmaking will have a separate pay post after each deck release.

Please state below what you have done in the June 2nd to June 15th period, and I will pass out mod pay as I see fit. Including links would be helpful for this first time so I can get a feel for how taxing your job is.

Please list out permanent posts first, then games.

-----

We're not a large group here in the mod community, so trying my luck here might not be the smartest, but is anyone PHP savvy here? I'm trying to think of ways to make updating the site easier. Right now, I can still handle the card pages no problem, but if we end up over 1000 decks one day, I don't want to imagine what kind of horror the cards list will become. I know there must be a way with PHP that I can make my card pages automated, where I only have to fill things out, but I only know enough PHP to implement scripts that other people write. =/ If I want to make this switch, I better do it now when we only have around 100 decks. I know there's a way to manage the members list with PHP too, but meh...

I was playing around with the Sketchpads page (AGAIN) by trying out the Icon Sort script (take a look.) I wonder if this would make my life easier or not, haha. Not sure if I want to switch because I would need to resort the sketchpads into different folders by series. But this counts how many there are and automatically paginates them by category and number, which is pretty cool. There's lots of possibilities with PHP, if only I knew it better! I've been doing pretty much everything manually since my PHP knowledge sucks.

edit: found the mytcg script...now to edit it...ahahahaha...

I wish I could help you more with the PHP thing, but I know almost nothing at all ): You probably already know about it, but there's always In the Cards (http://clavis-sama.com/), which might have some PHP tutorials you might be able to use. It might also be worth sending an email to someone who runs a fairly large TCG and ask them how managing their card pages works for them.

I have no permanent posts, so here are my games for this period:
Graffiti Round 01 (http://community.livejournal.com/colors_tcg/7382.html)
Beauty Pageant Round 01 (http://community.livejournal.com/colors_tcg/7456.html)
Poke Radar Round 01 (http://community.livejournal.com/colors_tcg/7900.html)
Poke Radar Round 02 (http://community.livejournal.com/colors_tcg/10857.html)

I haven't yet passed out prizes for all but Poke Radar 01- I'll be doing that tomorrow when my new rounds go up. :D I assume it'll be similar to the comments in the one game that's finished, though.

I've been surfing and visiting a lot of TCGs today to look at their credits page. A lot of them use mytcg (which seems to sort a lot of things, including card pages and members), but sadly the site (of the owner of the script) doesn't seem to work, so I'm not sure where the script is available. But it looks very nifty. I wonder where I can get myself a copy. Maybe I can find contact info if I surf around some more. ^^;; In the Cards has a deck manager in the works, but it's not public yet. I tried out their members managing script, but I couldn't make heads or tails of it, so I gave up. :'D

I'll hand out mod pay once more people comment and I get a feel for what everyone's jobs are like! I was pretty surprised by how many comments some games seem to get. Almost everyone on the members list is active right now since we're still new.

Modpay!
The pay is roughly 4 cards for your biweekly games and 3 cards for your weekly game. The crayons are an extra bonus (instead of per game) because otherwise us mods will get too many crayons. :3 Mods will get 1~3 crayons per mod pay depending on if I feel you did a lot of work in this period.

Re: Modpay!
That makes sense to me :3 Thank you very much!

As of right this moment I have:

Made 22 Portfolios (http://community.livejournal.com/colors_tcg/7986.html)
Posted the first round of Reading Between the Line (http://community.livejournal.com/colors_tcg/8247.html) (I will be posting the 2nd round and prizes for the 1st round as soon as I'm done typing this but by then it'll already be the 16th for me ^__^)
lucathia: fishbones: ring[personal profile] lucathia on June 16th, 2010 06:49 pm (UTC)
Modpay!

This time, I gave you 4 cards for Portfolios (since this was probably the Porfolio rush! next time, pay will probably be around 3 cards) and 4 cards for Reading Between the Lines (this probably won't change), and 2 crayon bonus for your hard work. ^__^ All mods get 1~3 crayons bonuses per mod pay.

For permanent posts:
Art Studio
Handled 3 exchanges for 3 members, not including mine

Signatures
Made 14 signature cards.

For games:
Art Lesson with Rukia
01 (http://community.livejournal.com/colors_tcg/8772.html)
02 (http://community.livejournal.com/colors_tcg/12068.html)

Go Fish!!
01 (http://community.livejournal.com/colors_tcg/9212.html)
02 (http://community.livejournal.com/colors_tcg/12309.html)

I know nuts about PHP, but I think in one of the TCGs I play in, the owner there is working on a TCG management script. So far, it looks like she's 50% done but it comes with a lot of features. xD I don't know if she's posted news and updates about the script outside of the TCG, but it's called easyTCG [[not to be confused with easyTCG FM which is for trade post management]]. I'll keep an eye out for when the script is officially released!
lucathia[personal profile] lucathia on June 16th, 2010 07:36 am (UTC)
I'm currently playing around with mytcg and am just about to give up and do everything manually like what I've been doing all this time. :'D I can't seem to get mytcg to work like I want it to, but I'll keep at it for a little more...since if I can get this to work, it'll save me a lot of headache when I update the site. No need to make cardpages.

I hope that TCG owner finishes the script soon. I find all these scripts pretty fascinating! They're like magic to me. XD;

Modpay!

Since Art Studio is still starting off, I gave you 2 cards this time (next time, pay for this will probably increase!). 3 for Signatures, 3 for Art Lesson with Rukia x2, and 2 for Go Fish!! x2 since not a lot of members have matching cards yet. I imagine passing out prizes for this isn't too taxing. ;) All mods get 1~3 crayon bonuses per modpay period depending on how much you did this period.

modpay!

Since Levels is still starting slow, pay for that is 2 cards this time. I gave you 3 cards each for Neku's Music Station and Host Club Giveaway (although this is biweekly and receives a lot of traffic, posting the game doesn't seem to require too much planning) and 4 cards for Switch it Up since it's biweekly and editing that post doesn't seem too fun. 3 crayon bonus for you this period!

I can't help with PHP unfortunately XD; as for the sketchpads, I think keeping them "together" and sorted would be better. If you're new and you want to look through all of them you'd have to click each and every series to see just 1 or 2 sketchpads and we would probably end up not noticing new sketchpads. XD
lucathia[personal profile] lucathia on June 16th, 2010 05:43 pm (UTC)
Problem with keeping sketchpads all on the same page is that one day the page will become way too long. XD; But when such a day comes, I'll think of something then...
[identity profile] stillarium.livejournal.com on June 16th, 2010 07:26 pm (UTC)
Oh, yeah, I forgot. That might be difficult... hmh, maybe we can think of some compromise like making different pages for games / anime, going by alphabet (like, 2 parts or more? f.e. A-L, M-Z) or something? XD; I feel like giving each series would be too many pages, but keeping them together would stretch the page too much 8D;
lucathia[personal profile] lucathia on June 16th, 2010 07:38 pm (UTC)
I code everything by hand. I'm probably one of the few TCG owners out there who does this, haha. But I think I'm probably faster doing things by hand...I take too long to figure out how to implement PHP scripts. OTL

I was thinking of dividing them in half later on if it gets too long. That'll probably work. I'll cross that bridge when that time comes. XD

Modpay!

Masteries is still starting out slow, so 2 cards this time, but pay will increase by next time! I gave you 3 cards each for your games this time, plus a 3 crayon bonus for everything.

Modpay!

Wow, 20 people in such a short period. Now we're almost reaching that 50 member mark that I accidentally wrote last month. XD; I gave you 4 cards for Joining (since this seems to be the joining rush! There will most likely be less people joining later on, so pay for this will decrease), 4 cards for Art Shop (what a busy place), 4 for your biweekly crossword as it seems to take a lot of thought, and 3 each for your rounds of Seiyuu Guess. Plus 3 crayon bonus overall.

I don't really have much, and I only mod one game XD

Pick a Color 01 (http://community.livejournal.com/colors_tcg/8652.html) posted the 3rd, just finished the round yesterday(17th). Gave out prizes, and started second round ... but I guess that counts for the 16th to 30th period right?
lucathia: fishbones: ring[personal profile] lucathia on June 18th, 2010 11:53 am (UTC)
Mm, the 2nd round would count for the next period, yes.

Your biweekly game earns you 4 random cards and 1 crayon, yay!
