welcome, new mods!
Please welcome our new mods, [livejournal.com profile] arushiraoi, [livejournal.com profile] disutansu, [livejournal.com profile] perarduaadast (I have to copy and paste your name =P ), and [livejournal.com profile] staticphrase! I find them all friendly, easy-to-approach, active, and very creative! I'm still waiting to hear back from one more person. When I do, I'll edit this post! Our last new mod is [livejournal.com profile] stopping! They will be responsible for the following games at the moment:

Aru - Conan's Clues
disutansu - Crossword
Skie - Beauty Pageant
Aisu - Spare Parts
Remus - Guess the Color

All new mods indicated in this post now have posting access to both this community and [livejournal.com profile] colors_tcg. Please feel free to start your game on a day that is convenient for you! We also currently need someone to cover Art Studio and possibly Masteries while Kuri is away. Thank you Skie and disutansu!

Although you're all starting off with 1 game each, you may one day end up like Moon (I believe you only started with one game, right Moon?) who now has a good majority of our games after adopting games from others and coming up with unique ideas. |D

Please let me know when you plan on posting your game so I can update the game schedule with the new schedule!

edit!!!
We will also soon be making the Asobot Initiative official! \o/

Give me all of your games
I look forward to working with you, Gil!
[identity profile] akise.livejournal.com on June 23rd, 2011 05:56 am (UTC)
I love how we commented each other at the same time XD Anyway, if I do decide to give up any of my games, I can PM you and give you first dibs on them? I don't want to spam the mod community anyway orz
[identity profile] perarduaadast.livejournal.com on June 23rd, 2011 06:01 am (UTC)
It's because we're awesome! And that would be wonderful. I would love first dibs! Though if you're not careful, I'll just cover them all!

YAY VOCALOID ICON I'm getting into Vocaloid again finally it's been one of my smaller fandoms for a long time now but I'm finally getting more into it...

Actually, if I do decide on giving up any, I'd rather have one of the new moderators cover it so I wouldn't be against you covering them all :'D Everyone else here has so much to do already I'd feel awful expecting them to take on another game. So you would be doing me a huge favor! I'll have to keep thinking it over, I'm going to be able to handle Art Shop when I get back (I think?) so I may give up one of my games for sure, I have to think it over some more~

YESSSS. If you ever want to geek out about Vocaloid, either the fandom, the Vocaloids themselves, or the songs, for any reason... totally let me know. I love Vocaloid and totally have almost no one to geek out about it with.

:D That makes sense! I'm totally game for anything, so just let me know if you'd like me to help out with taking something over! The choice is yours to make.
[identity profile] akise.livejournal.com on June 23rd, 2011 06:26 am (UTC)
You too! I love talking about fandoms and characters I enjoy, I will happily geek out about Vocaloid with you *A*

Thanks for being so awesome and understanding! I'm pretty sure I'll be giving up at least one, it'll be hard to decide on which but I'll let you know!
[identity profile] perarduaadast.livejournal.com on June 23rd, 2011 06:35 am (UTC)
YESSSS. Win. So now to begin: Favorite Vocaloid?! :D Mine is ridiculously obvious, do I even have to say it?

:DDD Anytime and sounds good!
[identity profile] akise.livejournal.com on June 23rd, 2011 06:37 am (UTC)
I'm very unsure about mine XD and yes, yours is very obvious! You still need to stop by my post for my Sake card! I'll take something random for it, I'm just too lazy to go to your post.... |D

If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be either Rin, Luka, or Gumi. I really like all of the Vocaloids though so it is super hard to choose between them. Do you have any favorite songs?
[identity profile] perarduaadast.livejournal.com on June 23rd, 2011 07:00 am (UTC)
Linkspam!
I do need to drop by for it! Last time I realized I had absolutely nothing you wanted for it-- I can't possibly give you something random! D: I have to give you something you're after! I have to!

Gumi! Luka! Both of which are awesome. Rin (and by extension, Len) are definitely the source for all my tragic stories though. ;_;

I have a set of four songs that are my favorites, story-wise, of all time. They make me cry. ;_; They have to be heard/watched in order:
1. Daughter of Evil (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q46Osg9C4pA)
2. Servant of Evil (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHvjwoTARKA)
3. Message of Regret (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aeIuOlEHZ0)
4. Daughter of White (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8f0ljVok71U)

However in terms of songs that I really love just to listen to, I think the following are my all-time favorites:
「Dolls」 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DelhT94I1w0) (Rin)
Monochro ∞ Blue Sky (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6JMu-ANnyA) (Miku)
_theBlue (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=De7-pPQGKFM) (Luka)

...But I mean... There are at least a dozen other songs that I really, really enjoy that I could link here too that I listen to regularly.

Re: Linkspam!
Giving me something random is more than okay! Really, don't feel bad about it. &hearts I'm pretty inactive at Colors anyway trading wise, so trading you the card would make me happy.

AHHH I LOVE THAT SET OF SONGS TOO &hearts I've memorized 1, 2, and 4 for the most part, I haven't heard 3 many times I don't think. Honestly, I cried at parts of Servant of Evil and Daughter of White in the past ;_; Vocaloids are so awesome, yet a lot of the songs I love are focused on tragic stories now that you mention it...

I think I'm going to have to listen to the ones you linked to now *A* I have a lot of favorites as well, some of them would have to be Karakuri Burst (Rin&Len), Matryoshka(Miku&Gumi), Love is War(Miku), World is Mine(Miku), Magnet (Miku&Luka), and.... I'm too lazy to list more of them. Oh! Alice Human Sacrifice is great too, and one of the first Vocaloid songs I ever listened to. There are so many Vocaloid songs I usually only listen to ones if my friends link me to them or if I see them under "Related Videos" on Youtube. I think I'll have to go listening to some more random ones now!

Re: Linkspam!
Wrraaauuughhh. I'll look through and decide after I sleep. Right now none of my images from photobucket are working so I can't be productive at all.

YESSSSS. Same. I occasionally listen to them just because I love them so much. Message of Regret is what really makes me choke up the most. "You were the only one that would hear me, and now you're no longer here". Daughter of White hurts just as much to watch. Poor Haku! Any song that has such a wonderful story, even a tragic one, is absolutely wonderful in my book. I'm eagerly waiting for part 3 of Synchronicity to see how that set of story songs ends.
Also you may have noticed that my "Tobi's Tale" stories were essentially the Vocaloid story of evil. ;_;

Another wonderful, yet tragic, song is 1/60000000 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOEgeRnN7lA).

Oh man, Love is War and World is Mine are both amazing! Alice Human Sacrifice is so very catchy, yet creepy! Kits tried to get me into Vocaloid ages ago with that song and it didn't work. I can't recall which song pulled me in successfully. However! I have totally now added Karakuri Burst, Matryoshka, and Magnet to my list of songs to listen to because I don't think i've heard them before!

While i'm linking things, I may as well link two more favorites:
Boss Death (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jtXIb7KUfw) and LeftBehind City (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6s2Pk_AySTU)! Both are AMAZING.

Re: Linkspam!
Amazing song selection, Skie. You've picked some of my favorites. I love the Evil series so much (I remember bawling my eyes out at Servant of Evil the first time I listened to it)

I'm ridiculously in love with all of Mothy's works. I'm really getting into his Seven Sins series and its fun to see how all of his songs are connected. He really knows how to tell a story! *_*

AND DOLLS = ♥♥♥♥, I love that song so much.

You have no one to geek about Vocaloid with? SAME, I only know like one friend who is really into Vocaloid, it makes me sad
[identity profile] perarduaadast.livejournal.com on June 23rd, 2011 10:14 pm (UTC)
Re: Linkspam!
kjadljgpfa YES. I am totally absolutely 100% going to geek out about Vocaloid with you too, now. :))))) I love it all so very much.

The Evil series is so wonderful so far. I've grown to love all the songs; though only the Daughter/Servant of Evil/Message of Regret/Daughter of White set of songs has made me cry. Conchita served to disturb me to an incredible extent, but it's a fun song. The Tailor Shop at Enbizaka... oh man that song. It's such a nice change of pace but the story... Oh god oh god oh god oh god. Then the Madness of Duke Venomania... Ha ha that song. I am constantly amused by it, but it is so very catchy! I just found Nemurase Hime Kara no Okurimono (the sin song for Sloth) and am finding it as incredibly wonderful as the others; though the story is equally as creepy!

... Havn't found the other two. If one of them is Kaito's clockwork song, I will be pretty sad. I couldn't get into that song or story. :'(

And: YES. Dolls is such an amazingly wonderful fantastic awe-inspiring song... and also tragic. ;_; The tragic songs are always so GOOD! But Dolls is, among the others, one of my absolute favorites.

I know next to nothing about Vocaloid! But I'm attending Hatsune Miku's concert at AX! Help! Give me a crash course.... ;___;
[identity profile] akise.livejournal.com on June 23rd, 2011 06:32 am (UTC)
I wish I could go with you ;_;
lucathia: fishbones: pink[personal profile] lucathia on June 23rd, 2011 06:34 am (UTC)
I wish you could come! My friend and I both know almost nothing about Vocaloid, but we thought we should go for the experience because the concert sounds pretty fascinating! The experience is kind of wasted on us. :'(
[identity profile] akise.livejournal.com on June 23rd, 2011 06:36 am (UTC)
Aww, no, I'm sure you and your friend will both end up enjoying it! I hope you do, enjoy it enough for me too since I won't be able to attend *A* I'd help explain to you but I do a horrible job explaining things and I'm sure Skie knows more about Vocaloid than I do, so I'll leave this to Skie~

Where would one start for the Vocaloid experience? |D I'm kind of lost about how to get into Vocaloid. But then, I'm not big on music, so maybe that affects things too... =x

The concert will be quite amazing, I'm sure! I purchased tickets in advance since I know it'd sell out (and it sure sold out fast).
[identity profile] perarduaadast.livejournal.com on June 23rd, 2011 06:40 am (UTC)
Oh man, attending a concert is one of the best ways to get into it! In a nutshell, Vocaloids are personifications of computer-generated voices! The most famous, of course, is Hatsune Miku. There are two current Vocaloid engines/programs that create, mix, and compose the voices and music. One is an older version and the other is a newer version! The first version introduced a base set of Vocaloids, and the second introduced new vocaloids while also streamlining the voices of many of the original set.

In addition to the programs, the fan communities (and official communities!) have created a large number of various comics, artworks, and songs... Many have caused big changes! (Such as Yowane Haku becoming an official Vocaloid!)... Each Vocaloid has a personality, style, specific sound, and "character item" that defines them.

I'm a huge fan due to how open the Vocaloid fandom is; much like our Colors fandom! I do believe one of my upcoming fanfics will involve the colors cast... and Vocaloid songs.

Hopefully this all made sense!
lucathia: fishbones: green background[personal profile] lucathia on June 23rd, 2011 06:49 am (UTC)
Which Vocaloid is the first? :O And, any specific songs you think I should know for Miku? I hope I don't feel lost during the concert, though maybe I'll have a good time watching the flashing lights too... |D

Do all the Vocaloids have a certain personality, and people build off of that? Where do people post their fanwork? I assume nicodouga might be one...?
[identity profile] perarduaadast.livejournal.com on June 23rd, 2011 07:15 am (UTC)
Technically, two Vocaloids titled "Leon" and "Lola" were the first, but through the original company; both were english Vocaloids. The first Japanese vocaloid was Meiko (5/5/04), followed later by Kaito (2/17/06). Miku wasn't released until 8/31/07, and she later received an updated voice (titled "Append") on 4/30/10. You can hear the difference in each "voice" when you listen to her songs. All of the other current Vocaloids were released after Miku's original release in 2007.

But we're due for a surprise because the Vocaloid 3 engine is due to be released in September of this year. With it we're expecting new vocaloids!

The songs to know for Miku are:
1. Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru♪
2. Black★Rock Shooter
3. Packaged
4. Love is War
5. World is Mine
6. Last Night, Good Night
7. Rolling Girl

I am a bit biased in listing these, but all seven are exceptionally popular and well known. There are a large number of others that may be played as well, but I have no way of knowing what you'll expect.

Every Vocaloid has their own specific personality and has certain things that have happened to them and most from there is speculation that people run with. But as an example, Yowane Haku's established personality is depressed, inferior, and in need of more alcohol due to her constant failures in comparison to Hatsune Miku.

Fan artworks end up everywhere, but 99% of fan songwork ends up on Nico Nico Douga; and then 50% of that ends up on YouTube.
lucathia: fishbones: nash double blade[personal profile] lucathia on June 23rd, 2011 07:21 am (UTC)
Oh okay. Wow, I've never heard of them before, the first two. How sad. D:

Thank you for the list of songs! I'll have to look them up!

I'm really sorry to butt into the conversation but you are getting into Vocaloid even more? *__* I'm so excited to hear that! Vocaloid has been one of my biggest fandoms for the past two years so I'm super happy to hear you are really getting into it. ♥

If you ever need any good song recommendations let me know! I don't have much people to geek with Vocaloid either, sadly.
[identity profile] akise.livejournal.com on June 24th, 2011 12:23 am (UTC)
Nahhh, you don't need to be sorry! &hearts And yes, I am. I'm checking out new music and videos (Thanks to Skie for providing some links!) and I'm in the process of going through a lot of Pixiv for pretty art (I've saved like 100 things so far *A*) I think Vocaloid is going to end up being one of my biggest fandoms now as well, I'll always geek out about Vocaloid with you, too! &hearts

WILL DO! I think you've heard everything I've heard now though, I need to get more into it. XD
