Public Modly Mod Post
Note: If you are a mod, make sure you're logged in so you can see the mod-locked post, too!
To keep things organized for future referencing, reply to the appropriate thread with commentary if there is one. Also this makes it so we won't have huge posts all over to spool through.

Schedule
What are things looking like for Pot of Gold rounds? Who has which month? How far out are we good for?
When do we think would be ideal for a test run of the CYOA game?

Future Level Tiers
So now we have Primary, Fruits, Precious, and Flowers. Sooner or later we're going to have more level tiers so uh... what are the requirements for those level tiers? We may as well brainstorm up some ideas because, you know, we'll need them eventually. Will it be card-based? Mastery-based? Achievement-based?

Combined Game Rounds
This was mentioned a while back, but I figured it was interesting enough to bring back up. Are any of you other lovely game mods interested in blending any of your games together with others or with any of mine? I'd be up for it if any of you were! We'd work out which games and what they'd become only after finding out who's in.

Create Your Own Adventure Game
After reading through the posts in the July Release post, it seems that a lot of players weren't entirely sure about the logistics of this game, so I figure this is a good opportunity to summarize it:
The Colors "Create Your Own Adventure" game will be a player-vote directed story with weekly (or biweekly) posted story drabbles. After the initial world-introduction, all story advancements are made and decided exclusively by player vote. Players earn cards by casting their votes or by volunteering as a drabble author for a week. Mods can voluntarily sign up as drabble writers, though Skie will be the default writer if no others are present.

A story archive will be kept of the entire story so that players can easily read, review, or catch up with the story without needing to spool through every game round.

[identity profile] perarduaadast.livejournal.com on August 2nd, 2012 05:15 pm (UTC)
And it looks like Chikky's got September...

So what shall we do for the rest of the months of the year? :o

October -
November -
December -

I can take December!
[identity profile] stopping.livejournal.com on August 4th, 2012 09:18 am (UTC)
And I can come up with something for October too, probably!
[identity profile] perarduaadast.livejournal.com on August 8th, 2012 03:06 pm (UTC)
And I'll take November's Pot of Gold.

It would be good to have an ideal test run of the CYOA game before the school season starts for everyone. Pretty sure some kids have already started but for some others it might be awhile!

FUTURE LEVEL TIERS
Discussion about them goes here!
[identity profile] stopping.livejournal.com on August 4th, 2012 10:01 am (UTC)
Also, for future levels - I think it'll probably be harder and harder if we keep raising the levels in increments of 300 to 400 to 500 in between, but. Basing new levels off of masteries or achievements might be a little wonky? I suppose it would depend on the achievements. It looks like gaining levels plateaus at 300 cards to level up, so maybe we could add stipulations or requirements?

For example, collect 300 cards and master one deck to advance through one tier? Collect 300 cards and master two decks for the next? Collect 300 cards and master two portfolio decks, etc etc.

I don't know, I guess it would really depend on what achievements or things you'd have in mind ;--;

I'm not entirely sure of what kind of requirements we would require for future levels. I would say if we tack on any, we would also in turn have to add on a requirement to link when you mastered/how many you mastered/achieved etc etc.

I also vote... planets? I think a few people on plurk were discussing on elements being used as the new tier, as it might be possible. There was also mention of candy as a possible option as well. I have no specifics yet but I'm pretty sure we can come up with something!

I feel 300 cards is a good number to stop at, otherwise it would feel like a very long time in between levels. Being able to level at a reasonable pace makes it feel like leveling is possible. Otherwise it might feel like a chore, and tasks involving leveling for Pot of Gold and such would become very difficult. I'd just suggest continuing with what we have for Precious and Flowers... the truth is, I don't really feel like setting up a new randomizer, haha.

Planets or elements were the two suggestions from the previous discussion when I asked about levels! For elements, those would be elements like earth, fire, water, air... though uh, that's only four. Forgot what else filled the rest!
[identity profile] perarduaadast.livejournal.com on August 8th, 2012 03:19 pm (UTC)
Ha ha, 300 it is!

Elements:
Red: Life? Heart? ?_?
Orange: Fire
Yellow: Light
Green: Nature
Blue: Water
Purple: Dark
Brown: Earth
Gray: Air

.....The planets in order don't fit (because Green would = Mars)... So....?:
Red: Mars
Orange: Venus
Yellow: Saturn
Green: Earth
Blue: Uranus
Purple: Neptune
Brown: Jupiter
Gray: Mercury

Whoops almost forgot about I was going to come back to answer this. This may be more urgent that it looks...since technically I'm already in the chocolate cosmos level and I've just been to busy/lazy to officially level up. And I'm lagging behind on turning in sketchpads... and masteries. OTL And with that being said I honestly wouldn't mind the card limit to be raised to 350 or even 400 between levels. At this point I feel like I level up too easily.

As for the levels I really liked the elements suggestion. Or how about animals? Something like

red: fox
orange: tiger
yellow: deer (?)
green:parrot/bird
blue: wolf
purple: fish
brown: monkey (?)
gray: panda
[identity profile] perarduaadast.livejournal.com on August 12th, 2012 06:10 pm (UTC)
Oh woah, hey! Animals would be really cute too!

COMBINED GAME ROUNDS
Who's with me!?
[identity profile] stopping.livejournal.com on August 4th, 2012 09:22 am (UTC)
ALSO TOTALLY YES I would be down for blending a few of my rounds! *__* The only one I have that might work would be Guess the Color, though...

ooohh, wait, idea! Maybe Seiyuu Guess and Go Fish? All the cards are characters voiced by one specific seiyuu, and players can name the seiyuu for an extra prize? Or...something like that... The problem with that would be that Go Fish isn't a screened game and Seiyuu Guess is :(

I don't know, I've currently got Go Fish, Host Club Giveaway, Guess the Color, and Information Exchange. I'm totally open to mash ups, and ideas for them if anyone would want to?
[identity profile] achuu.livejournal.com on August 5th, 2012 05:48 am (UTC)
I say we should combine crosswords and between the lines.... or rather. Connect them!! One round to crosswords can also relate to one round of crosswords. Like some kind of chain linking.

It would also be cool to also combine Graffiti and Conan's Clues but that's just me!
[identity profile] moon-wolfwriter.livejournal.com on August 12th, 2012 02:52 am (UTC)
I'd be up with combining any of the games I have. I know at one point Lucathia wanted to do a mystery event. Maybe we can pull something together with that as a base for October?
