Mod Pay August 1 - August 15
Hi mods, please list what you've done during the August 1 to August 15 period to receive your mod pay! List permanent posts, then games~, and let me know if you've covered for anyone or helped out with the release and such.

Kuri is stepping down as a mod. I believe her jobs may or may not have been taken care of. Please keep me updated! I'm a little confused who's looking after what. Check her post to see what needs looking after.

Chikky has decided to pass Pot of Gold on (see this post). I suggested previously that we might want to take turns with this (it'd also give Chikky a chance to participate too). Aru has stepped up for the next round. Should we have a schedule drawn up, or just wait as the month approaches? I mean, things can change, so I don't think drawing up schedules months in advance would be very helpful?

Also, for the newbie games I mentioned before, I'm thinking of maybe posting them in a separate community that I can give moderator/maintainer access to all our mods so that everyone can see screened comments. (I'm unsure which position makes it so that screened comments are viewable, but whichever one that is) This way, if the games ever need covering, other people can step in. Or I can just post them in the main community with an account that I can share the password of. I'm just trying to think of a way to do this so that they can be covered or maintained by more than one person. ^^;; Lastly, do we want to do multiple games (whichever mods want to pitch in can pitch in with a game), or should we just have one person (me? someone else if anyone's interested?) lump everything together? Let me know your thoughts!

Hope everyone's having a good August!

Sorry my journal was confusing. i don't under coherency ;-;`

Aru was covering masteries for me, I came such short notice that I just watched over art shop (which is Skie's) while she looked after Masteries. So, I think it's still mine. [livejournal.com profile] stopping seemed interested in art shop.

Right now, Lottery is the only thing that is still mine. Which, I don't mind taking care of this last one, that way the rest of the mods can participate.

Have her comment here? I am also not sure if Aru wanted to continue with Masteries! Art Shop depends on if Skie wants to continue with it I guess. I'll let you all figure it out. ^^;;

*not a mod pay comment, I'll be back with my modpay comment later*

There is always the [livejournal.com profile] cain03 account that we can use! Cain03 Initiative - helping new players out. New contest - design the Cain03 Initiative mascot! And I'm so looking forward to helping out with the newbie games *w* I don't know how exactly we should do it but I think that games should stay in the main community... New players already have tons of stuff to understand and having to join another community for some games might be too confusing.

About the games, are we going to do these that were suggested during the last brainstorm? (quiz, storymaking and the free cards for new players one) Or do you have some other games in mind? Lastly, what about the gifting cards to new players idea, are we going to implement it?

Sorry for being so tl;dr and asking so many questions, I'm just quite passionate about this idea ;;
EDIT: I can't HTML orz

Using the cain03 account is a feasible option. I just don't know if you would mind sharing the password with more than one person?

I was thinking that having a different community might be easier in that the games would not be buried when more stuff is posted later (this is in addition to the benefit that any maintainers of the community would be able to see screened comments regardless of who posts the games), and players wouldn't have to join the community to play them.

I know for sure that I'd like to have something that introduces players to different aspects of the TCG, but beyond that, I haven't worked out how things might work. August has not been kind. I don't know if you have time to help develop something? You're already organizing the event for September, but if you'd like to help with any parts of this (detailing how some parts of your ideas might work?) I'd love to hear about it. My response might not be very fast though.

I really didn't do nothing for this time period except for hand out some prizes for a round of my games that I posted back in July. But I figured I post here anyway to let you know so you don't end up waiting for me for no reason.

As for the newbie games I suppose it depends on if there will be multiple games or not. If it's just one post then putting it in the main community would work using a central account since only one person would really be needed to monitor it and that account could be passed around. But if there will be multiple activities, to be able to split the work, a separate community where we could all see screened comments would probably be best... or maybe using the trading com? That would also give new members a reason to remember to join the trading community. (I remember I accidentally forgot to join in the beginning)
lucathia: fishbones: red[personal profile] lucathia on August 25th, 2011 01:00 am (UTC)
Thank you for everything! o7

Hm, yeah, if it's multiple games, a separate community would probably be better. I wonder... perhaps we should just go for one post to simplify things. Too much might be confusing like what Aru mentioned with one of the downfalls of having a separate community. But multiple activities might be nice too...
[identity profile] moon-wolfwriter.livejournal.com on August 25th, 2011 03:42 pm (UTC)
I think a simpler approach would work best too. While more games would be fun it would also be more complicated. We want to help new players ease into the TCG more smoothly not overwhelm them with a ton of other things to do along with the standard set of games(which there are a lot of to start with).

I was wondering if there would be a set time after they joined that they could play the newbie game(s) or if it would be just once at anytime be it right after they join or several month later?
lucathia[personal profile] lucathia on August 25th, 2011 09:44 pm (UTC)
Hm, yeah, I think I'll just go with one comprehensive post, probably just a quiz type.

Just once at any time. It'll just be open forever so that any people who join later can play too (and I'll include a link when I reply to join comments so that people know to head to that post).

I think it'll be fine to wait until the month approaches!
I also like the idea of having a separate community for the newbie games. It feels kind of like a side-quest xD Multiple games are my preference too.

It seems like everyone has figured out a posting schedule for Pot of Gold. Hopefully the schedule will be helpful!

Hehe, sidequests does give a different ring to it~

Thanks for covering for Skie and Zags!

I haven't passed out prizes yet, seeing as I'm not home, but there've been two rounds of Guess the Color!

Guess the Color, round 56 (http://colors-tcg.livejournal.com/300466.html)
Guess the Color, round 57 (http://colors-tcg.livejournal.com/304619.html)

And I think we were talking about drawing up a schedule for Pot of Gold! I think I'm covering November, I already have some pretty good ideas for it. *w* I'll also be taking over Masteries for Kuri, just to clear that up sldkjfase

As for the newbie stuff, hmm... A separate community might be a little easier to deal with, so that everyone can deal with the games and stuff, but maybe it might be easier to just have a communal mod account post them here? Like the [livejournal.com profile] colorsmod account, or...one for one of the Colors Universe characters? That might actually be kind of cute. D8
[identity profile] eccentriccards.livejournal.com on August 19th, 2011 05:18 pm (UTC)
You bet it'd be cute! We've got that covered, though. See (http://colors-rp.livejournal.com/259.html)?

Next? We'll take the entire internet!

I can't wait to see what ideas you have for Pot of Gold!

Thanks for taking over Masteries!

Hm, yes, now I have to decide which route to go, separate community or just a separate account we can pass around...

Extra
Coded the August Release post... ... ...?

Due to various reasons, this week there will be a double round for Seiyuu Guess (53-54). I'll be posting that alongside my games today. A day late, unfortunately, but life isn't always so kind as to be constant and predictable.

In addition, Graffiti round 30 will be a special round. A pretty fun one, I think.

- - - -

As for the new member community, I'm all for either idea. If we run a community that everyone has access to, we can all use our icons and do anything we need to.

However I do think it would be better if we have a shared account for the new member games / activities / anything for several reasons. Firstly, it allows any mod to be able to post rewards for anything without confusing anyone as to why they're getting rewards/etc from random other people / different mods. Uniformity and efficiency; because having multiple people check the threads on occasion will allow them to be answered the fastest. This, of course, means one very important thing: The new member community would be a volunteer endeavor. Mods who want to help can help for free; Mods who don't want to help don't have to.

Sorry for the excessive blabber; I just sort of typed what immediately came to mind.
