Mod Pay August 1-August 15
My days are passing by way too quickly. It's already August 15!

Mod pay

Please comment with what you've done between the August 1st to August 15th period to receive your mod pay. List permanent posts first and then games. If you covered for anyone, let me know the dates or games you covered.

Signatures

I've received a few questions about Signatures during this time, so here's some clarification for mods!

1. Signatures can only be traded for signatures, and members can only trade their own signatures. If you see someone trading signatures for cards or vice versa, please refer them to the Signature page on the website that clarifies this matter.

2. Members cannot ask for signatures as a choice card from Levels or Masteries. At the moment, the only way members can acquire signatures is through crayons of the color of their Signature's borders or through using the Art Studio. If someone asks for their Signature as a choice card, please ask them to choose another card instead.

Currently, Signatures is the only deck considered a "special" deck, which means the rewards for it should be different. I'll be adding in what the rewards should be, so keep an eye out for that over at Masteries! (If anyone has mastered a Signature deck, please adjust their rewards).

Games and Game Prizes

Since we have a lot more decks now and sometimes we miss out on posting a round of a game (or two), if you feel your game should give out higher prizes, you can consider upping the rewards your game gives out by a bit (though crayons should still be kept out of most prizes~).

I also think it'd be a good idea to introduce a few more weekly games. We have a lot of games with a good balance between weekly and biweekly, but biweekly games probably make players feel like there aren't a lot of games? Anyway, the point is, if you feel you can run another game AND you have a suggestion for one, please let us know about it~. Or, if you only have suggestions, toss them out and maybe someone will take them on!

Levels
Lucius mentioned having to move. I don't know if I'll still be receiving a Levels report, but the last one I received was on August 1 that ended with Siouxsie leveling up to yellow. [livejournal.com profile] eternalkanda, do you think you can give me an update this week, or do you need someone to cover that?

Mm, the next mod pay is on the 31st. As long as you remember what you've claimed already...

Spare Parts is a cool name! Your names are all so original. |D I'm fairly clueless about mecha (I usually avoid mecha series...), but other people might do well at this game. I'd like to consider non-knowledge games first though. :3 (But hey, if you have any color or art themed game suggestions, that would be even cooler~)

In my experience with word scrambler games...many people find it too hard or too time consuming. There were less and less answers with each round. Themed would be cool though, since that'd focus the area the words come from, which might make the game a little easier.

Monthly challenges are cool! I liked having monthly games, but that kind of fell on the wayside the longer I ran my other TCG because they take a lot of time to plan. =/ I think I have enough on my hands with the monthly contests and the releases for the moment. Challenges are worth considering though, and maybe doable if they're not too involved. Hm, maybe we can come up with a new checklist each month that members can grab and fill in?

I looked over [livejournal.com profile] fire_senshi's ideas. Something like lottery is doable, but the other two sound a bit too involved for long term games since they would require the mod to comment back...which would be doable for small TCGs, but we have quite a number of players here. It's a good idea to have more non-knowledge based games though.

Other mods have also commented with some game suggestions if you want to take a look. :3

Haha, thanks! I love mecha series, so the Guess the Mecha game was the first thing I thought of when thinking of new games. XD

In any case, no problem about considering non-knowledge games first! I'll keep thinking up of ideas and see if we can adapt them for Colors. C:

I actually didn't have a set idea on what to do for the Monthly Challenges - reading my description above now, it seems far too similar to the original game over at Cheer TCG. But when you talked about coming up with a checklist, I thought that maybe instead of the 'all-or-nothing' approach Cheer had, maybe we could reward people base on how many items they manage to complete. Maybe if you feel that it's necessary, we could have a max limit to cap the amount of cards the Challenge activity will give out. Just something I thought of. =)

Another idea - also from Cheer - is that a card is chosen at random, and then posted. And then people are supposed to guess if the next card [also chosen at random] is going to have a bigger number or a smaller one. So, say I post nyan10, then people would guess if the next card will have a smaller number or a bigger number. And if the randomizer gives me friendship15, then everyone who guessed that the number will be bigger gets prizes!

I thought of changing it so that people could guess the color of the next card, but that would end up pretty similar to Guess the Color. ._.a Man, coming up with non-knowledge games is pretty tough. xD;
